alex anne + michael
Alex Anne and Michael had one goal in mind while planning their April wedding: to create a day that would be filled with endless memories of joy, happiness, and fun! With the help of Ellen Morgan at The Sonnet House, the couple’s dream for an intimate and memorable wedding came together perfectly. Their wedding was photographed by Birmingham-based photographer Cathrine Taylor Photography and captured by North Alabama videographer Lumpstick Productions.
For her wedding day look, Alex Anne chose the Coco Marie fit-to-flare wedding dress from our Build-A-Bride™ collection and added our Tulle Shawl, which added a soft and elegant off-shoulder wedding dress detail to her gown. She also added covered buttons to her classic wedding dress, and chose our Rae Veil and a blusher. We couldn’t imagine a more timeless wedding dress for a beautiful spring bride!
While choosing her wedding shoes, Alex Anne wanted something one of a kind that had never been seen before. She found Alan Slattery with Dreamer’s Supply Co. to custom design a pair of unique gold leather mules with blue velvet strings to tie up the ankle. These shoes incorporated Alex Anne’s many years of dance and allowed her to shine on the dancefloor.
Alex Anne and her lovely ladies had their wedding hair and wedding makeup done by the talented Birmingham hair makeup artist GLOW. To complement Alex Anne’s classic bridal look, her bridesmaids wore off-shoulder crepe bridesmaids dresses in a soft shade of taupe from Bella Bridesmaids. They carried wedding bouquets created by local florist Corey Daniel in shades of pink and peach; Alex Anne thoughtfully incorporated eucalyptus into the bouquets, as it is Michael’s favorite. Michael and his groomsmen wore black tuxes from THE BLK TUX, with Michael sporting their Midnight Pin Dot Tuxedo.
While Alex Anne and Michael had a large wedding party of 28 people, they say they wouldn’t change a thing. Every person in the wedding party was either a family member or dear friend who they knew would support their marriage until the end of time. During the wedding ceremony, songwriter Kirsten Arian and her husband led the guests in worship and celebration as the couple said “I do.”
Alex Anne and Michael started their outdoor wedding reception with an epic first dance, which was mixed by Michael’s cousin and choreographed by Alex Anne! It wasn’t long before the rest of the wedding guests joined them on the dance floor, which was produced by On-Site Productions. The wedding cake and Auburn-themed groom’s cake were made by local cake artist Hilde with Magnificent Cakes. To honor Michael’s late Uncle Millard, the couple used his Air Force officer’s commencent sword to cut both wedding cakes. The wedding reception was brought to life by details like the handmade Auburn cookies from Flying Squirrel Cookies and the wedding signage by Gracefully Made Art, a Birmingham-based full service wedding stationery studio.
We loved working with sweet bride Alex Anne and are happy to celebrate her and new husband Michael! Alex Anne is not only a #HeidiBride, but she is now a Bridal Curator™ for our new Build-A-Bride™ Huntsville bridal shop, opening Summer 2021.
