janna + alex

Janna and Alex had such a beautiful wedding celebration filled with joy, love, and a lot of dancing! Maggie McCoy with Eric and Jamie Photography, a popular Birmingham wedding photography team, captured every moment perfectly--from the first look to the Crimsonette dance at the reception! Keely Duke Events, a Tuscaloosa wedding planner, assisted Janna in selecting the perfect vendor team for her special day.

This Alabama wedding was held at First Baptist Church in downtown Tuscaloosa. The church venue meant so much to Janna and her family, as this is the church in which she grew up and was baptized. From the wedding bouquets, to the church flower displays, to the floral centerpieces in blue and white ginger jars, Tuscaloosa florist Taylor Designs captured Janna’s blue and white floral vision exquisitely.

Janna visited us at a Build-A-Bride™ trunk show in Tuscaloosa and selected our Codie Lee gown, a sophisticated trumpet wedding dress with a low V-neckline. Our trunk shows are an opportunity to showcase a wider selection of our Build-A-Bride™ wedding dresses in cities where we do not currently have a Build-A-Bride™ bridal salon.

Janna’s Codie Lee gown, a low back wedding dress with buttons down the back, made a dramatic statement as she walked down the aisle. Janna personalized her minimalist wedding dress by selecting raw silk dupioni, a luxurious textured bridal fabric. She completed her wedding day look with a lace wedding veil that was made from her mom’s wedding dress. A pair of custom bridal earrings by Tuscaloosa jewelry designer Susan Standeffer Designs made for a lovely and whimsical bridal accessory.

We adore the “something blue” bridal shoes with bows that Janna chose to wear with her wedding dress--they perfectly tied in with the blue off-the-shoulder bridesmaids dresses Janna’s girls wore! The light blue mother of the bride dress worn by Janna’s mom fit the blue color scheme beautifully; visit our flagship Heidi Elnora Atelier for its new line of mother of the bride gowns! To add even more classic style to this wedding day, Alex and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos with bow ties.

Following the ceremony, Janna and Alex’s wedding reception was held at popular riverside event venue Tuscaloosa River Market, which is situated along the picturesque Black Warrior River. Guests enjoyed food from Tuscaloosa caterer Robertson’s BBQ and delicious wedding cakes from Northport’s Athena’s Bakery. Janna and her fellow Crimsonettes kicked off the dance party with their tradition of “Yea Alabama!”, and guests danced all night long to the Tuscaloosa band Brother 2 Brother.

Janna radiated beauty on her wedding day and was so fun to work with! We wish the couple nothing but happiness in the years to come!
