kaylynn + brett
KayLynn and Brett’s wedding had a timeless cool factor that we just adored. Their clean, artistic vision was brought to life by Amanda Maddox with Amanda Maddox with Kendal Perry Wedding Planning, a Birmingham wedding planner. Every moment was captured by Alabama-based wedding photographer Katie Byrd Photography and wedding videographer Spark Weddings.
For her wedding dress, KayLynn wanted something timeless and elegant. She came to Heidi Elnora Atelier to shop our Build-A-Bride™ collection and ended up with the perfect wedding dress: the Adalyn Cruz wedding dress, which features a box pleated ball gown skirt and plunging sweetheart neckline. For extra detail, KayLynn added the Gwenyth top, a separate top that wraps and features soft ruching across the chest. “My atelier experience was amazing,” says KayLynn. “I loved every detail about my dress, but my favorite detail was the buttons trailing down the back.”
KayLynn’s wedding hair was styled by Hair by Hope, a Birmingham hair and makeup artist who also did the bridesmaids’ hair and makeup. Their jet black bridesmaid dresses from Bella Bridesmaids and black tuxes from Mr. Burch Formal Wear contrasted beautifully with KayLynn’s white wedding dress and Brett’s white tux jacket.
One of our favorite details from KayLynn and Brett’s wedding day was the jewelry, starting with KayLynn’s vintage-inspired engagement ring from Southeastern Jewelers. For her “something blue,” KayLynn selected a pair of gorgeous vintage sapphire blue earrings from Levy’s Fine Jewelry. However, one special accessory sticks out to KayLynn: “There were a few very sentimental items in our wedding but my favorite was having my great-grandmothers handkerchief,” she explains. “My mom had given it to me as a gift earlier in the day, and it was in my hand the whole wedding.”
After a sweet ceremony at BridgeStreet Gallery and Loft, a popular Birmingham wedding venue, the space turned into a spectacular reception. The flowers in shades of pink and coral by local florist RD Designs popped against the industrial decor of the venue, and accent lighting and drapes by Design Productions brought an additional layer of softness and warmth. The room was brought to life with food by Birmingham-based Happy Catering Co and a show stopping wedding cake by Barb’s Cakes.
The guests danced all night, but before the evening came to a close, newlyweds KayLynn and Brett shared a sweet moment alone. Says KayLynn, “When everyone went outside to prepare for the sendoff, Brett and I stayed back, and the DJ played one of our favorite songs. We danced the last dance at our wedding by ourselves, and it was one of the most special moments of the day to me.”
We are so happy to see KayLynn and Brett drive off into married life together! Thank you for letting us be a part of your day!
