lindsay + nate
Lindsay and Nate’s wedding set the standard for downtown Birmingham weddings. Their special day was filled with tender moments and sentimental details. Downtown church St. Mary’s on the Highlands provided the most beautiful stained glass wedding backdrop for their ceremony.
Lindsay got ready with her bridesmaids at a family home while wearing ruffled blue and white striped pajamas. Celine Russell’s makeup team, including makeup artist Louise Robertson and hair stylist Joanna Ballentine, glamorized Lindsay with a subtle chic wedding makeup look and an elegant half-up-half-down bridal hairstyle. Birmingham photographer Beth Hontzas perfectly captured every detail of the morning, from Lindsay’s sparkly bridal jewelry accessories to the city-themed wedding invitations from Fine Paperwork.
We love how Lindsay incorporated sentimental elements into her minimalist wedding look to make it unique. Lindsay chose to wear her sister’s wedding dress, who is a former Heidi Bride! Her sister wore our Coco Marie trumpet wedding dress in an elegant raw silk fabric. Lindsay personalized her family wedding dress by adding our V-Neck Lace Top. This sleeveless V-neck wedding top perfectly complements Lindsay’s sweetheart neckline wedding dress.
Lindsay also brought a personal touch to her cathedral length veil by adding heirloom lace appliques from her mom’s wedding dress. Lindsay brought her mom’s wedding dress to our team at the Heidi Elnora Atelier Flagship in Birmingham, where we carefully cut out each lace applique and individually arranged them before hand-sewing them in place. Upcycling heirloom wedding dresses is a specialty at our Flagship location–learn more about the heirloom process here! Lindsay’s heirloom lace veil is such a touching way that she incorporated her mom into her wedding day.
At the couple’s intimate ceremony, Lindsay walked down a flower lined aisle decorated in white bouquets with greenery from Birmingham floral design studio Marigold Design. Her bridesmaids looked stunning in their blue one shoulder bridesmaids dresses from Bella Bridesmaids. After the couple said “I do,” the couple climbed into a vintage white getaway car to head to their reception.
Lindsay and Nate celebrated their reception at The Donnelly House, a gorgeous downtown Birmingham historic home event venue. This outdoor tent reception was the perfect venue for guests to dance the night away to music from reception band Nationwide Coverage. The couple shared a champagne toast before cutting into their minimalist wedding cake adorned with white flowers from Magic Muffins. Guests were treated to monogrammed wedding koozies and a late night snack of donuts and fries with ketchup. At the end of the night, Lindsay and Nate headed back to their getaway car with a white rose petal sendoff.
We were so excited to help Lindsay create her perfect wedding dress for her special day! Sending love and joy to the happy couple!
