tate + wesley

Tate and Wesley celebrated a traditional southern wedding full of sweet details, romantic moments, and a fun getaway car! Syd & Lex Photography, a wedding photography team based in the Southeast, helped capture every special moment throughout the day. Each thoughtful design detail was pulled together by wedding planner AMR Bridal Events to make this wedding Tate and Wesley’s dream come true.

The couple tied the knot in a traditional church wedding service at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Lillie Janes, a local Birmingham wedding florist provided stunning magnolia leaf wreaths and white bouquets to bring southern charm and life to the day. Not only did these organic wedding wreaths adorn the church doors, but Tate’s wedding bouquet also featured natural greenery.

Courtney White, an Alabama hair and makeup artist, helped Tate and her bridesmaids get wedding ready. We adore Tate’s classic bridal updo and natural wedding makeup. The mauve bridesmaid dresses and black tuxedos with white bowties worn by the bridal party felt elegant and timeless.

Tate found her wedding dress at our bridal shop in Auburn, AL, Build-A-Bride™ Auburn. She designed her personalized wedding dress using the Ella Grace silhouette. Ella Grace is an A-line wedding dress featuring a sweetheart neckline, a natural waist, and a flowing organza skirt with pockets. She elevated the Ella Grace silhouette by adding our lace bodice, the perfect add-on for the bride who wants a wedding dress with lace details. For a wedding dress with sparkle, Tate also added our crystal belt, one our popular bridal accessories. She chose the Rae Veil, a chapel length wedding veil with lace edge, to complement her bridal look.

After the ceremony, the party moved to the  Thomas Jefferson Tower, a stunning historic wedding venue with rooftop views in downtown Birmingham. Local restaurant Roots & Revelry—which is located within the TJ Tower—provided the wedding catering, while Birmingham cake artist Wedding Cakes by Jan made the classic white wedding cake and chocolate-covered groom’s cake. As the fun reception transitioned into an all-out dance party, local DJ and musician Michael Warren, kept the dance floor full all night. Tate and Wesley ended the night with a getaway from Coats Classic Cars, a popular transportation service in Birmingham, Alabama.

We loved working with Tate to create a lace wedding dress that perfectly suited her style, and we wish nothing but happiness for the newlyweds as they start their lives together!
