taylor + john

Taylor looked like a modern-day princess when she married John in January! From her timeless wedding dress to John’s classic black tuxedo, the newlyweds made a stunning pair. Fine art photographer Leslie Hollingsworth captured the wedding day in her beautiful and bright wedding photography style, and Birmingham videographer Resolute Films captured the day on video.

The classic black and white wedding invitations by local stationary company The Scribbler set the scene for the perfect black and white wedding day. The stationary flat lay was truly Pinterest-worthy, as was the Mrs. ring box that showcased Taylor’s infinity diamond engagement ring and wedding band.

This winter wedding took place at The Florentine, a restored building in downtown Birmingham recognized as “Birmingham’s Most Beautiful Building.” Not only does The Florentine make for a historic wedding venue, but it has a full-service event planning team that handled the wedding catering and white rose wedding florals.

Taylor and her girls got ready in cozy black bridesmaids pajamas before changing into gray blue bridesmaid dresses with black bridesmaid shawls. Birmingham hair and makeup artist Morgan Ashley Hair & Makeup did Taylor’s bridal makeup and bridal hair, along with all of the bridesmaid hairstyles--we love how she accentuated each friend’s unique beauty with their different hair and makeup looks! Taylor’s mom wore a sheath mother of the bride dress in a gorgeous shade of blush pink that perfectly complemented the rest of the wedding party.

For her wedding dress, Taylor chose our Diana Kelly box-pleated ball gown wedding dress from our Build-A-Bride™ collection. This classic wedding dress was named after two princesses--Princess Diana and Grace Kelly--and captures the timeless beauty of a royal wedding dress. This deep V-neck wedding dress also features an open back, buttons down the back, and every girl’s favorite detail… yes, this is a wedding dress with pockets! Taylor added crystal and pearl drop bridal earrings and our Pilar lace wedding veil to top off her wedding day look.

As the wedding ceremony turned into an all-night dance party reception, Taylor and John treated their guests to custom cookie wedding favors. The buffet wedding reception featured a fruit and cheese spread and grilled vegetables, while the round reception tables were set off by tall crystal vases filled with sprays of white flowers. The reception showpieces were the multi-tiered white wedding cake with flowers and chocolate groom’s cake with fruit. For a classic wedding send-off in style, Taylor and John drove away in a vintage white car that stole the show.

This was a truly beautiful wedding, and the love between Taylor and John shone through all day. Best wishes to the bride and groom!
