Huntsville, alabama

Hey there! I’m Cheryl. I am an Ohio native (Go Bucks) but 13 years ago a new job opportunity for my husband brought us to the Huntsville area. I am also a mother to a son and daughter, both recent graduates from Auburn (War Eagle)!  I know, I sound like I can’t make up my mind! I am a Physical Therapist Assistant for over 25 years providing therapy to babies as young as 6 weeks old and to our 100 year “young at heart” folks. I absolutely love my patients and get great satisfaction in their physical gains.

My friends describe me as a giver, a quiet soul and a little OCD when it comes to organization. Some call it being a control freak but I call it being a planner! I love to travel especially if it’s to a beach and spending time with my family and friends.  Family is everything and you never know how much time you have left with them!

Since my kids are out of college and onto their new careers, I have this wonderful opportunity to pursue my love for the bridal industry. I love everything about it! My husband and I have often thought about renewing our vows and wearing one of Heidi’s designs would be a dream come true. I’m a helper at heart and can’t wait to be assist my brides in designing their perfect gown and share in that special time of excitement. Every woman deserves to feel beautiful especially on her wedding day.

Cheryl knew that she would marry Phil the first night she met him. She went home that night and told her mom that she met the man of her dreams. They went to rival high schools in a small town in Ohio but never knew, until many years later, that they had several chance meetings when they were younger. Cheryl and her husband Phil have been married for 32 years in September and have two children, Nick and Samantha.  In 2005, Phil accepted a job on Redstone Arsenal which brought them to Huntsville which was the best decision of their lives. Both children just graduated from Auburn University in May 2019. Nick spent 7 years active duty Air Force then 3 years in the Air National Guard while attending college. He will begin his career in flying soon in Phoenix, Arizona. Samantha spend 4 years at Mississippi State than 4 years at Auburn. She is an Equine Veterinarian currently in a one-year internship in Lexington, Kentucky. Nick met the love of his life, Marissa, at Auburn and they will be married on September 21, 2019. Cheryl and Phil are so excited to be gaining another daughter to their family. Cheryl has been helping Marissa and Nick with wedding planning and has attended multiple bridal shows which led her to Build A Bride. She was so intrigued with the concept of having “blank canvases” to build upon to design your own unique gown.

One of the most important things in Cheryl’s life is spending time with family. All of her family are still living in Ohio which means lots of road trips. Traveling is also fun with Phil and friends, whether it be to a beach, taking a cruise or participating in a 10K (no running…just speed walking). Cheryl has been practicing physical therapy for the past 25 years as a Physical Therapist Assistant in many different settings. Her heart is for helping people in whatever capacity needed. The wedding industry has always been a love of Cheryl’s because it’s one of the happiest and most exciting times in someone’s life. In the spring after meeting a Build A Bride curator, Cheryl decided to pursue becoming a B.A.B.E. After applying online and fulfilling the requirements, receiving many emails and phone calls from Heidi and her staff, the dream is coming to fruition. Cheryl is beyond excited and grateful to be serving the North Alabama area and be working with Heidi and the other Build A Bride Curators.
