biloxi, mississippi

Hey ya’ll! I’m Erin. I was born and raised on the Gulf Coast in (Sweet Home) Mobile, Alabama. I am a true Southern girl. I love sweet tea, SEC football (War Eagle!), country music, the beach, and Mardi Gras. I am engaged to my handsome fiancée, Cody and we are proud dog parents of  two rambunctious boxers,  Abbie and Luke. We enjoy evenings on our deck with a cold drink watching the sunset and our fur babies play.

After graduating from Auburn University with my Bachelors degree in  Business Administration, I returned home to Mobile. A lifelong dream came true when my family surprised me that I had been chosen to reign as Queen of the Crewe of Columbus Mardi Gras Ball in 2014. Mobile Mardi Gras has been a tradition in my family for generations and is one of my favorite times of the year.

I am currently planning my dream Southern wedding and will be getting married in May 2019. I am a DIY bride and love the idea of a custom wedding gown within my budget. I love that Build-A-Bride gowns can be created not only for brides, but also for debutantes and Mardi Gras Queens. I am so excited to bring Build-A-Bride to Biloxi and the surrounding areas. I can’t wait to help you create the dress of your dreams!

On February 9, 2018, the Crewe of Columbus held its 97th Annual Parade and Ball. Since she had been Queen in 2014, Cody knew the perfect night for the proposal.  The theme of the ball was “Mister, Mister” and he was hoping she would let him be her forever “Mister.” Mardi Gras has always been a tradition in Erin’s family for many generations.  Erin’s grandfather was a member of the Crewe of Columbus for over 60 years and her father has been a member for over 40 years.

Erin and Cody watched the parade with family and friends, who all knew about his plan, before attending the ball. Once the tableau was finished, one of Erin’s friends insisted they go and have pictures taken. After they had their picture made, Cody took her hand and knelt down on one knee. He asked her to marry him and she replied “YES”!  This was the exact spot that Erin had stood as Queen in 2014. Cody had to get special permission from the society for his one-of-a kind proposal. He designed the custom heirloom ring himself and had asked her father for her hand in marriage. It was the perfect proposal fit for a Queen.

Erin and Cody are planning their wedding for May 2019.  The first thing they did was to find the perfect venue. The wedding will be celebrated at a restored home in the Mobile historical district, with views of downtown and the waterfront. The celebration will reflect Southern traditions, with Magnolias and vintage touches throughout.

Erin is proud to be a #heidibride and, although she cannot reveal which Build-A-Bride dress and add-ons she has chosen, she wishes she had found Heidi and her Build-A-Bride collection when she was Queen. Then, she could have easily built both of her dream dresses. She can say it was a difficult choice with so many beautiful combinations from which to choose. Two of her favorite silhouettes are the Coco Marie and the Adalyn Cruz. They both are timeless and classic.  The Adalyn Cruz is a beautiful ball gown and, when paired with the sparkly Beyonsae bodice, would be a stunning choice fit for a queen.  But to create the ultimate dream bridal gown, the addition of the Valentina top, would be the perfect combination for a true Southern Belle.
