Baton Rouge, Louisiana

For starters, you can call me Erin Claire. But my legal name is now Erin LaHaye Veillon; since on November 18, 2017, I married my best friend, Alex, in a breathtaking cathedral wedding in Lafayette, Louisiana! Only the people who know me best call me “Erin Claire”, so I figured you ladies should be included in that tribe.

Alex and I now live in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana with our spoiled rotten “puppy”, Mila! She’s a 3-year-old black goldendoodle who will steal your heart right away unless you don’t like puppy kisses... then I suggest you stay far away from her!

I was born and raised in a super small town; where I graduated from high school with about 45 people. So, the day I graduated, I packed up and moved to the “big” city of Baton Rouge; where I studied Art & Public Relations. But in 2014, I started worked for a bridal boutique; that was when I realized what I wanted to do for the rest of my life! There is just something about helping a girl find the dress of her dreams for the ONE day she gets to feel like a true princess. (Yes, I cried when Meghan Markle married Prince Harry because I wanted to be a princess that bad... no shame!)

I’m a lover of all things Target, travel, blogs, fashion, puppies, babies and brides. Shoot me an email. Let’s chat. I bet we could be really good friends!

For Erin Veillon, life up until marriage has been a mixture of school, work, and travel; all while trying to find her path in life.  In high school, she traveled to Washington  D.C. to participate in the Pro Life March and her life from that moment,  was changed.  In college, she traveled to a small village in Guatemala to bring aid and to work with little school children in the village.  Once again, her life was changed. She was also lucky enough to travel to NYC a couple of times to explore the city with her girlfriends…trips and memories she will never forget.   And in an adventurous and daring kind of way, her life was changed.  But, in November 2016, on a weekend trip to New Orleans, her best friend got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. Talk about a life change!

After a year of planning, Erin’s Daddy escorted her down the aisle to meet Alex as the trumpet and string instruments played.   They were married in a breathtaking cathedral ceremony in Lafayette, Louisiana, surrounded by their family and friends.  Following the ceremony, they took a trolley ride to the location of the reception and had a private meal as husband and wife, before the fun started.  It was a grand party filled with lots of music, dancing, cookie bar, photo booth, cake, flashing ice cubes, tattoo parlor,  and many personal touches that she had ever so cleverly planned.  But, one of Erin’s favorite details was the pictures that she secretly had taken for her future husband.  Erin surprised Alex with pictures taken in her wedding gown accompanied by their “puppy”, Mila.  Alex was so excited to see Mila included in their wedding day! The smile on his face and the tears in his eyes, made all the craziness of trying to get Mila to behave for her photo shoot worth it.  After the wedding and reception, Alex and Erin left for a honeymoon in Bora Bora, where they relaxed at the Four Seasons Resort in a private overwater bungalow. And yes, Erin says that the pictures don’t lie…it really is that gorgeous!

Erin says that after having planned and executed their truly memorable cathedral wedding, her next option would 100% be a destination wedding out in the mountains somewhere! Very small and intimate with just close family and friends.   She would choose very dark, moody colors and have a bouquet filled with greenery, wine colored dahlias and berry vines draped throughout.  Erin would do a photo shoot with Alex in the mountains as the sun set.  Her ideal reception would be a nice sit down meal under the stars with music, drinks and lights strung under a clear tent. Dreamy, airy, whimsical, moody, and romantic.  The dress would be a no brainer!   The Adalyn Cruz paired with the Valentina top for the ceremony!  But for the reception, she would remove the lace bodice and add the beauty bow around her waist for a sweet romantic touch.  Less is more for Erin!! The box pleats and plunging sweetheart neckline on the Adalyn Cruz take her breath away – Swoon Worthy! It would no doubt be the trip of a lifetime!
