Houston, Texas

I am Kathryn Elizabeth Robinson. You can call me Kate, but I also answer to mom, honey, or anything close. There is so much that I would love to share with you.  I promise to just hit the highlights, saving the rest of the story for a girl’s night over a glass of sparkling rose.

Born and raised in Corsicana, Texas, a small town 50 miles southeast of Dallas, my love story began in first grade when a certain green-eyed, blonde haired little boy sat behind me. Whether he was helping me blow out my birthday candles or I was cheering him on from the sidelines of the football field, we were the best of friends. As we grew older, something changed… William Robinson asked me to the Senior prom… and the rest is history.  After graduating Texas A&M University with a degree in economics and business, I married my soulmate and true prince William (Bill) in the summer of 2005 (technically making us the first William and Kate); moved to Houston to begin our careers and so our fairytale began.

Starting my career as a consultant with Accenture, I quickly climbed the corporate ladder and later took a management position in a major oil and gas company. Realizing something was missing, I decided to pursue my creative dreams and started Kate Robinson Photography, specializing in fashion as well as family photography and everything in between. I consider myself to be “structurally creative.” With an artist as a mother and a banker for a father, I find creative ways to communicate visually and provide a unique perspective.

Bill and I have been living in Houston the past 13 years with our three children, Liam (Age 8), Nora (Age 5), John (Age 3) and our Golden Doodle, Savvy. When not taking photos, you are surely to find me in the stands of the little league ball field, planning over the top birthday parties for one of our adorables, or in search of my next Pinterest, worthy creation.

At the end of the day, I am a true romantic! Where did your love story begin? Don’t leave out any of the details! I’m so totally obsessed and excited that we are about to create your dream wedding gown. Bring out the fairy dust…. Let’s make some magic.

Kate met the man of her dreams at age 6. After years of friendship and courting, she ultimately walked down the aisle wearing her mother’s wedding gown to marry her soul mate and one true love, Bill, in the summer of 2005 at St. Laurence Church in Southlake, Texas. Newlyweds, bursting with young love, they moved to Houston to follow their dreams and build a future together. Kate left her successes in Corporate America to pursue a passion in photography. From live butterfly releases with children to the rooftops of the city in the name of fashion, Kate enjoys capturing new perspectives from behind the lens of the camera. If Kate and Bill were to walk down the aisle today, it would be hand in hand to the same tune they danced to thirteen years ago, “When I Fall In Love.” Following close behind them would be their three precious children, Liam (Age 8), Nora (Age 5) and John (Age 3), as well as their golden doodle, Savvy. Kate would be wearing a Build-A-Bride, Vivienne Beau ball gown with a v-neck bodice. Lace appliqué would be added to the sheer back, combining playfulness with refined simplicity. As an ode to her previous dress, a chapel length veil lined with traditional lace would complete the look. Their vow renewal ceremony would best be described as sentimental, romantic and sophisticated. Roses, ranunculus, and peonies; mixed with the drama of the anemones and blackberries filled with greenery and cascading orchids, Kate’s bouquet would be the perfect balance between traditional and timeless with the trends of the season. Like a fine wine, their love has aged. A color pallet of mauve, blush, burgundy and sage would set the perfect tone. After the ceremony, at sunset, friends and family alike would all have a seat at the farmhouse table illuminated by candlelight in the Texas hill country. Kate is now living her happily ever after surrounded by a tight community of friends and family she heavily relies on as her support system. From borrowing a cup of sugar to agonizing over a tough motherhood decision, Kate could not feel more blessed to have found her small village amongst one of the largest cities in the US. Kate enjoys watching her kids grow up from her front porch, finding joy with the company of neighbors and rosé. She cannot wait to help you build the dress of your dreams; stunning from every angle, the tiniest of detail noted. Let the magic of your fairytale wedding begin.
