WHAT IS BUILD-A-BRIDE™?

Build-A-Bride™ is a collection of wedding dresses designed by heidi elnora. (We refer to our dresses as a canvas that brides can build their dream dress upon.) The women responsible for these canvases, are our “Bridal Curators™.” Bridal Curators™ help the brides to turn their canvas into an original work of art - their wedding dress.

 

THE BUILD-A-BRIDE™ CONCEPT IS GENIUS, WHO CREATED IT?

Established in 2008, our founder, Heidi Elnora, is a project runway alum, host of TLC's "Bride by Design," and has had her work featured in every major publication. Check her out by visiting the "Our Designer" tab on our website. 

 

WHAT IS A BRIDAL CURATOR™?

A Bridal Curator™ is more than just a stylist. They do not only have an eye for design, but they are fit specialists, well-versed in fabrics, trends, and can customize a bride's dress down to the detail.  

 

WHAT IS A TRUNKSHOW?

A trunkshow allows our Bridal Curators™ access to the full Build-A-Bride™ collection.  

 

DO I HAVE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

Yes. We want to make sure that we give you the service and undivided attention that you deserve.

 

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

It all depends on the day of the week! Tuesday - Friday, we recommend a few days notice. Saturdays, we suggest at least a 2 week notice. 

 

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY BRIDAL APPOINTMENT?

A fully belly and a happy heart. Seriously, we can handle everything else. 

 

HOW LONG DOES AN APPOINTMENT USUALLY TAKE?

Plan on hanging out with us for a good 2 hours. If you are shopping for veils or accessories, plan on 1 hour. 

 

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?

We allow 4 guests including the bride in a boutique appointment. You can have as many guests as you would like for an in-home appointment. 

 

HOW MANY DRESSES WILL I TRY ON DURING AN IN-HOME APPOINTMENT?

Your Bridal Curator™ will bring you 3 dresses to try on in your in-home appointment. We will do our best to curate a selection of different sizes to better determine fit.  

 

WHEN MY DRESS ARRIVES WILL IT FIT ME?

All dresses are made based off of our Build-A-Bride™ size chart. They are made to order, not made to measure. Therefore, alterations may be necessary for an additional fee. 

 

ARE ALTERATIONS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF MY BUILD-A-BRIDE™ DRESS?

Each Build-A-Bride™ dress is custom made to order but not custom made to measurements or to fit so alterations may be necessary for an addition fee. Your Bridal Curator™ will supply you with a list of seamstresses in your area that can help with the alterations process. It is up to the bride to decide who she wants to use for alterations as the supplied list are just suggestions and are independent from Build-A-Bride™ Enterprises, Inc.

 

DO YOUR LOCATIONS OFFER IN-HOUSE ALTERATIONS?

Unfortunately, we do not offer in-store alterations. We do offer a list of preferred vendors including alterations in your area. 

 

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY WEDDING DRESS?

All Build-A-Bride™ wedding dresses are dry clean only. The cleaning instructions are on the care label inside each dress. Your Bridal Curator™ will  also give you a “how to” spot clean your dress and a $100 cleaning credit to J. Sheer in New York City.

 

WHERE ARE YOUR PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED?

Our products are manufactured from all over the globe. We have several products that are MADE IN THE USA as well as OVERSEAS.

 

HOW MUCH DOES A BUILD-A-BRIDE™ DRESS COST?

Our dresses start at $1200 and price varies based on design and fabric. Everything we do is broken down a-la-carte so it is easy for you to know exactly what you are buying.

 

WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?

ACH, Visa, American Express, MasterCard and Financing. We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash payable to Build-A-Bride™. 

 

HOW DO PAYMENTS WORK?

1/2 deposit is due at time of purchase. The remaining balance is due once we contact you telling you that your dress is ready!

 

I JUST PLACED AN ORDER. CAN I ADD ANOTHER ITEM TO IT?

Unfortunately, no. We cannot add items to an existing order. You will need to place a new order for the item. Please contact your Bridal Curator™ with help with this.

 

I NEED TO CHANGE SOMETHING ON MY ORDER. HOW DO I DO THAT?

If you need to change your order, please contact your Bridal Curator™ immediately. Once home office has processed your order, we will be unable to make any changes.

 

IF I DIDN'T PURCHASE A VEIL IN MY APPOINTMENT, CAN I STILL DO THAT?

You can definitely still purchase a veil after your appointment! Our lead time for veils and accessories is around 3-4 weeks. 

 

WHAT DOES FINAL SALE ITEM MEAN?

Final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged.

 

MY ORDER IS A GIFT. WILL IT INCLUDE THE PRICES?

If your item is a gift and you would like for us to exclude the packing slip, please email customercare@buildabride.com immediately after placing your order.

 

DO YOU SELL GIFT CARDS?

We do offer gift cards. We have two options, a “virtual” gift card and a “physical” gift card. These cards are available for purchase online ONLY.

 

CAN I ORDER OVER THE PHONE?

Yes. Your personal information is always safe with us with your Bridal Curator™ and online, however if you are still not comfortable making a purchase on our website, you may contact us via phone at 1.205.250.5232 from 9AM-5PM CST, Monday-Tuesday.

 

WHEN WILL MY CREDIT CARD BE CHARGED FOR MY ORDER IF I ORDER ONLINE?

Your credit card will be charged once the order is placed.

 

WHAT IS YOUR PRICE ADJUSTMENT POLICY?

Price adjustments for items purchased at buildabride.com will be honored within 3 days of purchase in the form of a buildabride.com store credit. Please contact customercare@buildabride.com for further assistance.

 

WHAT DO I DO IF MY ITEM IS ON BACKORDER?

From time to time we sell out of our current stock. In this case, some items will be eligible for back order. This will be noted on the product description page. You will place your order as usual but please note the delivery time frame on that product page. We will notify you once that item is back in stock and ready for shipment.

 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A DRESS?

Standard dresses take 14-16 weeks. Custom dresses take 18-20 weeks. 

 

WHAT SIZES DO YOU CARRY?

We carry size 0-26. Our dresses and sizes very per location.
