I am a Birmingham native. I am a wife to my husband of 13 years and Mother to a beautiful daughter and charming son. I am a Registered Nurse and I am currently in school to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. I am also the owner of Balanced Roots - a Health and Wellness Practice. I am an Ambassador for Emily Schromm by promoting and supporting others through nutritional food and strength programs.

I began a career change into fashion at The Art Institute of Tampa in 2004 but had to put this dream on the backburner due to my career in nursing. After 20 years in nursing, I have finally jumped back into my first passion. Heidi and I have been besties since junior high school. I am very excited to work with Heidi brides in finding that perfect dress to embrace their beauty and confidence on their special day.

I can be described as a dreamer, perfectionist, hustler, and basically a jack of all trades. I love to travel, try new cuisines, enjoy nature, and relax near any body of water in my free time with my family. I am a combination of a city and country girl with a gypsy soul. I can be found balancing life with a phone, la Croix, Rx bar, notebook, and rocking a messy mom bun.

Helping other women feel empowered, confident, and beautiful in their body is what keeps me moving forward.

Favorite inspirational quote “Your wings already exist, all you have to do is fly”.

Hi Ladies! My name is Mary Bishop Steele, and congratulations on snagging you a fiancé! I am super pumped to help you in the best part of wedding planning: dress shopping! I am a twenty something, travel loving, paleo eating, book reading kind of chick. I am new on the married scene – I tied the knot with my husband, Phillip, in February 2018 in a Heidi dress that made me feel like a freakin rock star. I am from Birmingham, and I graduated from THE University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) with a degree in International Relations and Spanish; yes, I am a diehard Bama fan, and yes, I married an Auburn fan; I honestly don’t know what came over me. After graduating college, I moved to Madrid, Spain for three years to teach English. Besides marrying Phillip, it was the best experience of my life. My favorite time of year is Fall/Winter (college football anyone?); let me tell you, I do not thrive in Alabama heat. I love to shop (I mean, who doesn’t), so you can normally find me at home browsing all the online fashion blogs. I currently work at a Global Security Company in the Retail Department where I put my Spanish speaking skills to good use. My husband and I are dog parents to a chocolate lab named Shug. Our weekends are usually filled with Mexican food, good friends, and/or relaxing at Lake Martin getting our tan on.

I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. I’ve always loved southern lifestyle – the food, the traditions, the history, the football and, of course, the southern weddings.

I received my Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University (War Eagle!) and my Master’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Exercise Physiology.

I met my amazing husband in Auburn while I was finishing my undergraduate degree. After a year and a half of dating, my sweet boyfriend at the time dropped down to his knee in the middle of the sandy beaches and proposed in front of our families.

I have 3 younger sisters and so when it came time to find my perfect dress Heidi was the only person my family trusted to take my mom’s dress and make it into something all 4 of us would wear. With her incredible eye, Heidi convinced me that I could not only incorporate aspects of her dress, but I could wear a dress redesigned entirely out of my mother’s dress. And she would even leave room for changes for each sister. It was perfect. And my dress was perfect. Now, there will be three more versions of that dress worn by each of my sisters and in the end 5 women in my family will have worn the same dress. Heidi helped me design my perfect dress and now I can’t wait to help you design your perfect Heidi Elnora dress!
