Where Do I Start?
Over the years, Heidi has enlisted compassionate, creative, and customer service focused entrepreneurs to join her in order to serve more brides with her globally acclaimed Build-A-Bride™ collection. We call this select group of entrepreneurs, Bridal Curators™. Build-A-Bride™ is a collection of wedding dresses designed by Project Runway alum and TLC star, Heidi Elnora. A Bridal Curator™ owns their own Build-A-Bride™ by heidi elnora bridal boutique and offers an extremely unique and customizable experience for the bride-to-be. What makes being a Bridal Curator™ different than a normal brick and mortar bridal boutique? Our Bridal Curators™ bring our pristine and customizable collection of wedding dresses to brides-to-be in the convenience and comfort of their home or a location of their choice. With the bridal industry changing rapidly, we are targeting brides with a moderate budget. These brides love the idea of custom but don’t want to blow the bank to have it. As a Bridal Curator™, you do not have to worry with the day-to-day stresses and overhead of owning a storefront. You are your storefront, and we are here to help!
Setting Up Shop
Bridal Curators™ are assigned territories based off of their current location. We feel that it is important to support and shop local, and that all begins with YOU! Territories are broken down by county groupings and defined by population. We have conducted extensive, market research when defining territories. We want you to be a successful business owner and do not wish to overpopulate territories like an MLM can do (this is NOT an MLM by the way). We have a cap based on population and other market factors as to how many Bridal Curators™ can be supported within a given territory. If the territory you are interested in is not available at the time of your application, you can be placed on a waiting list.
A key component of being a Bridal Curator™ is the training you receive from Build-A-Bride™ home office. When you first sign up as a Bridal Curator™, you’ll be assigned your territory, and then you will spend the next 90 days taking our online courses created by Heidi Elnora herself. This will help you to learn the products and our Build-A-Bride™ lingo while understanding the experience and identifying the ins-and-outs of owning your own bridal boutique business. You will take classes on entrepreneurship, digital marketing, fashion, business, basic accounting, customer service, and so much more. In addition to the physical online classes, each Bridal Curator™ has access to our online ordering system (the portal), our line sheets, home office customer support, our designated facebook page, as well as many other resources to continually educate and nourish you as you and your business grow.
What is Included in My Investment?
As you know, starting a business costs money. However, we have fine-tuned the essentials needed to quickly get you up and running as a Bridal Curator™. Each Bridal Curator™ receives a kit. This kit (the “Curator Kit™”) is designed to best suit each Bridal Curator™’s specific territory while targeting bride’s taste in that particular area. Bridal style varies from coast to coast, and you’ll see that same trend reflected in our Curator Kits™! Each Curator Kit™ includes: a minimum of 3 dresses, 5 add-ons, 2 veils, 2 belts, the official Build-A-Bride™ brand signage (it's like a mini storefront sign that hangs beautifully displaying our logo), and our duffle bag which is perfect for packing all of your appointment must haves! In a Bridal Curator™’s duffle bag you can find a measuring tape, handheld mirror for the bride, Bridal Curator™ cue cards, bridal bell, your Build-A-Bride™ must haves, and more! These items are transported to and from appointments in our custom Build-A-Bride™ garment bags. Each dress and accessory is displayed using hangers and clips that are included in the Curator Kit™. Every Curator's Kit™ will grow and change as their business grows and changes. Our Bridal Curators™ can add to their kits whenever they would like. They may also choose to add new items as the Build-A-Bride™ line evolves and expands throughout the year and especially during our Curator Conference™.
What is this investment?
Rather than the overhead of a brick and mortar business or a franchise that could cost $100,000+, your initial minimum investment is $6,500. With a lot of hustle and heart, you can easily make your investment back in 10 months. (Factoring in 3 months of on-boarding and training) An average curator is estimated to earn between $40,000+ in commission each year.*
*These numbers are based on a general rate off the sale of 6-8 dresses sold per month (approximately 2 dresses/week) at an average sale of $3,000 per dress.
How Will I Earn Income?
Every Bridal Curator ™ has the opportunity to earn commission based off of their monthly sale’s goal! Notice that our commission bracket is higher than the average sale’s commission. The commission potential chart is broken down for you below. Although this might begin as your side hustle, our goal is for you to grow your business so that Build-A-Bride™ is your main source of income!
